My name is Nguyen Thanh Truc, born Sept 30, 1994. My father, Nguyen Van Ve, was born in 1941. My mother, Lu Thi Sau, was born in 1951. I was selected by school officials as candidate for scholarship or financial aids.

I want to present my family hardship because of many reasons:

My parents are old and weak. They work hard but to bring just enough to feed the family. Myself, I have a kneecap with infection that needs treatments at the Central Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. I have to go there every year for check up. Besides feeding and schooling me, my parents had to borrow monies to pay for my medical treatments. Today, my parents owe the Government Bank fourteen million dong VN. Also, my eyesight is very bad, I cannot see far away without glasses.

Today, I am writing this letter asking for help from people like you with kind hearts, to grant me a scholarship. I will have my eyes tested. I will buy glasses, books and school supplies. I pledge to try very hard and do well in school.
