On December 24, 2008, Sunflower Mission’s advisors, Ms Duy-Loan Le and Mr. Hoang Huy Hoang attended the 2009 Sunflower Mission Engineering & Technology Award Ceremony held at the campus of ASCENX in Vietnam.

Mr Tung Bach, CEO & President of ASCENX, Mr Phuc Trong Than, Intel Southeast Asia Country Manager, Mr Kun-Shan Lin, VP of Asia for Texas Instruments were present for the event.

Over 100 friends, members and supporters of Sunflower Mission (SM) gathered on Saturday Dec. 13, 2008 at the Dao-Le 's residence to celebrate Christmas holidays. All of us were able to put aside our worries and uncertainties in this extraordinary economic environment to enjoy a well- planned social event with family and friends.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD BOWLERS! Teams of 5 are encouraged to sign up before the deadline of Sept. 17, 2008. So grab your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers!

We will have lots of rock 'n' roll music, good food, good company, and of course, lots of bowling, to support the cause of a better education for the children of Vietnam. This is a great opportunity for team building, camaraderie, community outreach as well as good family fun. Also, if your company matches funds, please let us know!

...Talking to the students there and watch as their face lit up with joy. It touches my heart deeply to know that one person could make a difference and the efforts that each member of VSA has put help towards raising money to donate to Sunflower Mission made the biggest difference ever.

In the past five years, Sunflower Mission has been recognized as the Charity of the UH-VSA. UH-VSA has been committed and dedicated to improving the lives of the children of Vietnam through education. Through the years, UH-VSA has put together many events including poker tournaments, bake sales, and fashion shows to support the Sunflower Mission cause. UH-VSA has raised over $17,000 for Sunflower Mission!

At 7:45am, many of our summer work camp participants arrived at the gate of The Dao-Le residence. Some of them drove straight from out of town at 4am and some of them flew in from other states. They were so punctual it was refreshing and it demonstrates their enthusiasm. One shared with me that he arrived at 7am but did not ring the gate because too early.
