Sunflower Mission Receives Motorola Solutions Foundation Grant

Sunflower Mission has received a grant of $25,000 USD from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions

Through this grant, Sunflower Mission will support 35 scholarships for university students pursuing careers in Engineering and Technology. Five scholarships will be awarded through our Le So Memorial Scholarship of Excellence (LSMSE) and ten will be granted through our Sponsor a Student (SAS) Scholarship.

“We are grateful for the continued support from the Motorola Solutions Foundations and cannot wait to see where it takes our scholarship recipients,” says Mrs. Duy-Loan Le, Principal Founder of Sunflower Mission. “Last year, Sunflower Mission received $25,000 in funding from the Motorola Solutions Foundation to sponsor the education of 35 students studying Engineering and Technology. Two of our scholarship recipients recently began fully-funded PhD programs in computer science and chemistry at Stanford University and Texas A&M University, respectively. In addition, our student-led volunteering initiatives have seen increased participation, independence, and creativity with the inauguration of our Strides for Schools Runathon this year, which raised over $30,000 in collaboration with our SEEDS.”

The Motorola Solutions Foundation, which has donated more than $100 million over the past 10 years, focuses its giving on three key areas: first responder programming, technology and engineering education, and programs that blend the two. The Foundation has a long-standing commitment to supporting programs that benefit underrepresented and underserved populations and aims to partner with organizations that align with its values of accountability, innovation, impact, diversity, and inclusion.

"Every day, Sunflower Mission makes a meaningful difference within the community, and the Motorola Solutions Foundation is honored to partner with them as they continue to expand their impact," said Karem Pérez, Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Executive Director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation. "We are incredibly proud of Sunflower Mission, the programs they have brought to life, and the individuals they have positively affected.”
