Embracing Unity

by Tomas Huynh

This is my first workcamp experience with SM or any other organization. One thing that really impressed me was the dynamics among the kids. About half of the people in the workcamp are high schoolers or college students. By the third day of the workcamp, they acted as if they had been friends for years. Everyone joked and played around with each other. There was no exclusion of any kids. Normally with such a large group, there would be one or two kids made to feel left out. That was not the case here. At the end of each day, after dinner, the kids would all gather in one room and hang out. This group of kids was so mature, hardworking, and humble. This was just one of many wonderful things that I noticed during the workcamp so far.
