First Week Reflection
by Audrey Huynh
Day one of the work camp was our hardest but we got the most done as we painted the background for the whole room and began the sketch. The next day was harsh but I was proud of the mural since I was the designated artist for my room. Finishing touch ups, adding a clear coat and moving furniture in the next day left time for relaxing after 2 days of work. Day four was filled with other rooms adding clear coat and getting a rundown on the STEAM activities for the next day and packing gift bags for the kids. Over 300 students showed up the next day and I was exhausted after being in a room of 50 while doing various STEAM activities, but our day wasn’t over yet as we had to pack gift bags for the ceremony the next day. The final day of work camp was the most enjoyable while watching little kids perform dances and not doing hard labor anymore. The best part of work camp was that it gave me an opportunity to make new friends to last a lifetime and I am extremely grateful for all the memories we made together.
